Kathy O’Neill

Hello! I’m the therapist at Blackford Bodywork. My interest in treating pain and injury stemmed from my love of biology. I trained as a scientist and spent 5 years doing laboratory research at the University of Edinburgh before I started my first massage course. I really enjoyed using my knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand how our bodies generate everything from static posture to explosive jumping.

I have also qualified as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. I find that my musculoskeletal knowledge allows me to effectively analyse and coach sport-related activities and exercises. It’s exciting to bring together my manual therapy and coaching experience to help people move in the way they want to.

Movement is very important to me - I teach Les Mills group exercise classes and I’m a keen CrossFit-er. My goal is that you can enjoy movement too!
